FIRST LOVE RECOVERY MINISTRIES

WORKS 4 U

Eph.4:20(KJV)

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto goodworks, which God hath before ordained that we should walk inthem."

Eph.4:20(The Message)

"No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both themaking and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to joinhim in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready forus to do, work we had better be doing."

No member of God's kingdom is destined to be 'unemployed' in hisglorious service. All members of God's kingdom are God'sworkmanship. God's workmanship are those that are created by Godin Christ Jesus for the sole purpose of joining him in the worksthat he does. To be part of this workmanship, one needs tosincerely repent of one's sins and humbly accept Jesus Christ asone's personal Lord and Saviour(John 1:12;2 Cor.5:17).

Titus 3:5(KJV)

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but accordingto his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, andrenewing of the Holy Ghost;"

Outside Christ, one's 'good works' are actually 'dead' in God'ssight! Such 'good works' are not good enough to save one fromone's sins!

James 2:18(KJV)

"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew methy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by myworks."

Good works are an evidence and a clear demonstration of one'sfaith in Christ even when one encounters one's 'enemies'.

Matt.7:21-23(KJV)

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter intothe kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Fatherwhich is in heaven."

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we notprophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?and in thy name done many wonderful works?"

"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: departfrom me, ye that work iniquity."

Good works are not works that seem good in one's sight but theyare works that are commanded by God as one is led and empoweredby the Holy Spirit.

Acts 10:38(KJV)

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and withpower: who went about doing good, and healing all that wereoppressed of the devil; for God was with him."

John 9:4(KJV)

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: thenight cometh, when no man can work."

As a disciple of Christ,God expects one to be an imitator ofChrist in doing good works.

Luke 19:12-13(KJV)

"He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far countryto receive for himself a kingdom, and to return."

"And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come."

The Lord is likened to 'a certain nobleman',his workmanship arelikened to 'his ten servants',and his resources given to each ofhis workmanship are likened to 'ten pounds'. His resourcesgenerally include time, the bible, the fellowship of otherbelievers in Christ and the Holy Spirit;and specifically eachChristian's unique talents, spiritual gifts, and skills. Spiritualgifts include the gifts of the Spirit listed in 1Cor.12:8-10;and the ministry gifts listed in Rom.12:6-8,1Cor.12:28,and Eph.4:11.

In conclusion,if you are part of God's workmanship, then thesegood works are the 'works 4 u'!

And when you 'occupy till the Lord comes' by faithfullydoing these works, you are fulfilled;others are edified;and Godis glorified!

This is your destiny in Christ Jesus in this present life!

Titus 2:14(KJV)

"Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from alliniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous ofgood works."
